It's simple: we send thoughtful prompts to the storyteller (or you can choose your own), and they respond by recording a video or writing their answer. Video responses are automatically transcribed into written stories. Family members can follow along as stories are shared, suggest their own questions, and leave comments. At the end, everything is compiled into a professionally printed hardcover book.

Most services force you to choose between video or writing—we offer both. Record on video (or audio) and we automatically transcribe it into a written story. Or write first and use it with our built-in teleprompter when you record. Either way, you end up with both formats. Your final book includes QR codes that link to the actual video recordings, so future generations can read the stories AND hear the storyteller's voice.

After the year is up, you can choose to renew at $99 annually to keep recording stories and creating new books. If you decide not to renew, that's ok too. You and anyone you've shared your stories with will still have full access to read the stories and watch the recordings, and you can download everything whenever you like.

When you record a video or audio response, we use AI to transcribe your words into a written story. You can choose from several output styles: a first-person narrative that's cleaned up and polished, the original transcript exactly as you said it, or even a third-person perspective. The cleaned-up version removes filler words and repetition while keeping your authentic voice intact.

Yes! You can edit your written stories at any time before your book is printed. If you recorded a video and want to adjust the transcription, you can edit that too. We also offer AI-powered options to polish your stories with more descriptive language if you want to bring them to life even more. You have full control over how your final stories read.

There's no hard limit. We recommend keeping individual recordings under 10-15 minutes for the best experience, but you can record as long as you need to tell your story. Longer recordings just mean richer stories.

Yes! You can upload photos to accompany any story. These photos will appear alongside the written story in your final book, adding visual context to your memories.

Absolutely! If you're not feeling inspired by a question, you can remove it from your dashboard. Then choose from hundreds of other questions in our library, invite family members to send questions, or write your own custom prompts. You have complete control over what you want to share.

Yes! You have complete freedom over which questions and topics to explore. You can write your own questions, select from our curated library, or answer the prompts we send you by default. Many families love suggesting specific questions they've always wanted to ask.

By default, we send one prompt per week, but you can adjust this in your settings. Some people prefer more frequent prompts to build momentum, while others like a slower pace. You can also pause prompts anytime and work at your own speed.

Yes! When you invite family members to follow along with your stories, they can suggest questions they'd love to hear answered. This is a wonderful way for children and grandchildren to ask about specific memories or topics they're curious about.

Your book is a professionally printed hardcover with a custom cover featuring your chosen photo and title. Inside, each story is beautifully formatted with the written narrative, any photos you've added, and a QR code that links to the video recording. Each story in your book includes a small QR code. When scanned with any smartphone, it takes you directly to the video recording of that story. This means future generations can not only read the stories but actually see and hear the storyteller telling them in their own voice.

Yes! Before you order your book, you can preview your cover and make adjustments to any of your stories. We've designed the book layout to be clean and consistent, so your stories will look beautiful without needing to fuss over formatting details.

Once you place your book order, printing and shipping typically takes 2-3 weeks for US delivery. International shipping may take longer depending on the destination.

Your included book can be up to 200 pages. Most families find this is plenty of space for a year's worth of stories. If you have more content, you can reach out to our customer support, or you can always create multiple volumes.

Yes. All content you create with Reminiscely is set to private by default—only you can choose who sees your stories. Communication between your browser and Reminiscely is secured with SSL encryption, and all written content is encrypted when stored on our servers.

You'll have the option of inviting family members as part of your initial onboarding, as well as anytime afterwards. They'll be able to read and watch stories as they're completed, leave comments, and suggest questions. You control exactly who has access.

Yes! If you want to share a specific story more broadly—like on social media or with extended family—you can generate a public link for that individual story. Your other stories remain private unless you choose to share them.

Absolutely. You can download your recordings, transcriptions, and written stories at any time. Your memories belong to you, and we make it easy to keep your own copies.

No. Your personal stories and recordings are never used to train AI models. Your content is yours alone.
